This is a short collection of my longform writing, mostly composed of essays I've written for fun (or for school, so still fun for me lol)

Made Possible by Viewers Like You: The Debate of Federal Funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
December 2nd, 2025
This essay was my term paper for my "Business and Society" class! Despite its length, I think I definitely could've written much more. Regardless, I'm proud of how it turned out! It probably has the longest works cited section I've ever had in an essay lol. This paper definitely put me out of my comfort zone, since I usually write papers based on more humanities-based subjects (or at the very least, not with this many statistics!), but that helped me develop my more analytical writing with a lot of moving parts. WHEW just glad to be done with this paper; I wrote it all in about twoish(?) weeks or so.
Man! I Feel Like a Woman!: The Negative Effects of Postfeminism in Sex and the City
April 28th, 2025
I wrote this essay in spring of 2025 for a gen-ed writing class final! The prompt was to research and make a claim about something we could connect to our personal lives in some way (along with other guidelines of course). So obviously I decided to write about one of my favorite shows ever, Sex and the City, and its portrayal of postfeminism + gender politics with added blurbs of my experience as a gay transgender man. I'm still really proud of how this essay turned out! I think I could've written 50 more pages on the topic if allowed, but I was already almost double over the page limit (I asked my prof if it was ok and she said it was alright as long as it was good writing! I guess she liked it since I got a 99 on the essay LOL). My prof also told me I could've written an entire thesis on this topic which I would truly LOVE to do. This was truly such a treat to write; I developed such a deeper reading and appreciation for SatC through writing this.
Video Killed the Politics Star: Harms of Portraying Politics as Pop Culture
March 23rd, 2025
This essay is from the same gen-ed writing class, and the prompt was to research and make a claim about something related to communication and technology. I thought it'd be interesting to write about how the Charli xcx album Brat was used in the Harris 2024 presidential campaign. I haven't reread this essay in some time, but I talk a bit about communication online and in American politics and how those have melded over the last few years. Very fun essay to write. My prof liked this essay a lot too!
